This is a niche game file modification that is tailored specifically for game players that have an extreme form of arachnophobia.

This mod was only created as it was a direct request from someone that has this condition and he found himself at a point where he either needed to find a way to remove the mechsects or stop playing the game altogether as they were causing extreme anxiety and chest pains whenever he had to encounter the mechsects ~ but he really didn't want to give up playing the game if he could find a way to get rid of them.

This mod contains a modified enemies.con file and is intended to be used with the Ion Fury v1.1 game data files.

USAGE
1. Extract the contents of the zip file to the game folder where Ion Fury is installed.
2. In Windows you may then double click on the file no_spiders.bat to launch the game session.
3. Alternatively, you can use the following command line parameter on any platform to load the game with this modification: -g no_spiders.grp

KNOWN ISSUES
There may be locations within the game where the player will need to briefly use the noclipping cheat in order to continue playing. The only location that comes immediately to mind is the player's first encounter with the mechsects in Z1A2. In the corridor where they are first presented, the door shuts behind the player and does not open until after the mechsects in the hallway have been killed, but since you don't have the opportunity to kill them, the door will not unlock.
