Another Port of Duke Nukem Arena Discovered

In May, we saw footage of Duke Nukem DS, a lost port of Duke Nukem Arena for the Nintendo DS.

However, another lost port of Duke Nukem Arena was uploaded to YouTube two months earlier, and the game's files have already been extracted. It went totally unnoticed! This one was published for the Zeebo video game console in Brazil and Mexico, but there are no records of it prior to 2020. The game's developers have confirmed some of the details for me.

Unedited gameplay footage:

Two ports of the same game leaked about a month apart? Was there another leak in June that I missed? :)

This is a cool discovery. I hope the data will be posted.

I saw on your wiki page the sentence, "In 1998, Tectoy was accused of developing an unauthorized port of Duke Nukem 3D for the Sega Genesis and selling it illegally in Brazil." I believe this to be misinformation and that the port was authorized. As one piece of evidence a contract regarding a Sega version of the game is mentioned in the Duke IP Asset Purchase Agreement.

Oooo thanks for the info! When I have time later today, I'll fix that. I copied that mistake across multiple articles.

Re: posting the data. Where is data like this normally posted? And is there anything someone should know before posting it (e.g., Duke4 forum rules)?

Another major update on this: It's an unreleased prototype!

Sheesh, everything I thought I knew has turned out to be wrong so far.

OK, so I thought a positive identification from the game's lead developer was a pretty reliable source, right? Turns out, he was getting this game mixed-up with a different game.

I followed-up with the lead developer, and after reviewing some new information, he conceded that he can't definitively identify the game but offered a few possibilities. But basically, we're pretty sure this was never released. We know for sure that it was labeled for use on the LG enV3 mobile phone and was dated to November 2010, three years after Duke Nukem Arena. Our best guess (and the lead developer suggested something similar) is that this was probably used for internal tech demos at LG or Verizon, hence its discovery in a "demo server" cache. It's all explained here: https://dukenukem.fa...em_Battlefields

The game was never released for the Zeebo. Thanks to KrZ One for figuring that out :)

I find MEGA to be a reliable place to host data temporarily.

I don't see anything in the forum rules to point out.
