colored quote text not working

I'm adding the up arrow and palette number but there is no color change in the text. I tried in Polymer and Polymost, newest and as far back as 6927.
Is it on my end or does anyone else notice it?

EDIT: I answered my own question. It works only in software renderer. ;)
Wiki should be updated. Or did I discover a bug?

AFAIK it works in all renderers. Perhaps you are using a 32-bit font and you forgot to include tints in your def so that the different colors will show up?
