Strange behaviours with r8265 and DukePlus

First, I would like to praise that AT LAST there's a proper support of controllers!

Then, I have a bunch of bugs to share:

  • In rare occurrences, launching a new game might crash eDuke32.

  • The size of the screen is not saved. I can't keep a full screen game with a 50%-sized classic HUD.

  • If the contrast is set above 1.00, colors are garbled:

  • With DukePlus 2.4x, Duke holds the DB shotgun quite a derpy way:

The specs:
GPD WIN 2
Intel® Core™ m3-7Y30
8 GB of RAM
Intel HD Graphics 615
Windows 10 Pro 1903
GRP used: DN3D World Tour and Atomic Edition from GOG. Texture caches were cleared in both installations.

DukePlus hasn't been updated in years and should not be expected to work correctly with newer Eduke32 revisions. The gameplay stuff should all work fine, but model hud positioning and animation keeps getting broken with eduke updates. Speaking as the person who coded it, I have happily moved on to other projects and have no plans to dive into my old code to bring it up to date.

EDIT: I don't know if this will be useful, but... Assuming you have DukePlus version 2.40 which was released in 2016, LeoD has a NixFix file that can be applied to it:

This may or may not address that issue. That's from March of this year.

Thanks for the fix, I will try it right away.

Meanwhile, I should have mentioned that the bug only occurs with the Polymost renderer, which I believe is not maintained anymore.

Therefore, two workarounds are possible:
  • - If the user wants to play with voxels or with the best performance possible with Polymost, Pigcops with DB shotguns must be disabled.
  • - With Polymer, dynamic lightnings have to be disabled.

You have it backwards. Polymer is the one not being maintained any more.
