Assuming someone has finished the official episodes and expansions, please make a list of essential 3rd part mods a player should play, in order! :(

Haha, yeah, but I was hoping for a numbered list of 5 or 10 mods? :(

Not in any particular order

Bloodlines TC (unfinished but has some great levels)
Bloody Pulp Fiction
Death Wish
French Meat
Legends of Iconoclast remake (the more serious tone might put some people off but there's some really nice level design)

Adding to these mentioned above:

Out for Blood (released recently)
BANZAI addon (creative maps and themes here, despite various authors it holds one unique atmosphere and overall art style)
Hostile Takeover (Bloatoid maps made into whole episode, kind of proto-Death Wish)
CWHHROT (if Redneck Rampage was serious and made in Blood themes and environments)
The Lost Episode (maps from Alpha finished and made into one whole episode, some of these are rather unique, as something between Cryptic Passage and Post Mortem)
Blood Chronicles Volume 2 (map compilation but every episode feels thematically connected and like it tells its own story through maps)

If you fancy more classic approach this is prepackaged with working mods and better DOSBOX setup with launcher:
https://www.moddb.co...soundtrack-mods
For NBlood/GDX you could look for any FS/GDX ready version of the mod with prepatched files and art if it uses these, addons and mappack often run without modding game files as they are.

This one I didn't played yet but also new:

EVICTION provides huge and detailed maps, so source port is recommended to avoid poor framerate:

GDX ready versions aren't necessarily supported by NBlood (unless I've missed it implementing RFS support)

These with fixed resources, after all most of classic mods for vanilla either added new art or midi or replaced, altered original game files. There were batch scripts for this, so I have no idea how you would do that for NBlood in different way than already altered, patched files with new content beyond simple ini, map and midi files like addons or mappacks. Other ones like BPF or CARNAGE especially require this and simply running mod files in the same folder won't work and gives visual/sound errors.

Technically that launcher does the job automatically. After you select and 'install' a mod, you can just run CUSTOM folder in NBlood.

I just played The Dreamwell Enigma: Barlington Estate

http://www.the-postm....php?f=2&t=2447

It is an interesting self-contained map with a smart puzzle but no serious combat challenge :o

You can read diary entries, too!

EDIT: I also played Ancient, nice map, this one is more claustrophobic and difficult.
