If the player starts a map in an elevator tagged sector (18 or 19) the elevator no longer automatically triggers and activates
E2L3 is broke
(luckily the use button can still trigger the elevator, but it's supposed to start automatically)
(It only works in E1L2 because that elevator has a master switch and touchplate)
the last working snapshot was r7839
the next snapshot in the synthesis is r7842, and it does not work

Someone told Duke that the elevators are broke so he's trying to help them out.

I was watching a playthrough of AA and an elevator in a very old map was broken. I'm trying to ascertain whether it's this bug or a different EDuke32 bug.

Warp Factor elevator works fine in current AA (r8642), but it was broken previously.

But I wasn't asking about the older r8642. Your own post above said that elevators got re-broken after that.

Can confirm auto-starting elevators such as the one E2L3 are broken as of r8791

Still broken in r8811.
Last good version is still r8642 AFAIK.
I can't update to a newer version and take advantage of improvements such as sloped sprites while things are broken. I made the mistake of updating the .exe for a version of AA a while back without checking on the elevator thing, and sure enough I started getting bug reports about the broken elevators on the AA discord.
