i've been testing various releases of 64 bit Eduke32 and found that between r6880 and r6884 the memory usage (in polymost) went from 80 mb to 400 mb
it only happens on 64 bit versions.

Did the frame rate change at all? I have no idea what happened, but it’s not impossible that there was an optimisation that simply required a higher degree of RAM.

just did a 60 second test on e1l1, fraps benchmark results:
