How to add cutscenes to the GOG and Steam versions

Cutscenes in the GOG and Steam versions are packed in a .bin CD image which is later mounted by DosBox. GDX can't read or mount .bin files (yet), so you'll need to extract these cutscenes first.

Download and install IZArc2Go: http://www.izarc.org/downloads
(you can also use your favorite CD images manager like Daemon Tools)

In the game's folder, find game.gog file and rename it to game.bin.

Open game.bin in IZArc.

Extract movie folder or its content (excluding .avi files) into the game's folder.

Here is another fix for the videos that I needed to use.

The Blood.ini file that lists the location and order to play the videos is case sensitive.

So you need to have the video referenced as something like: CutSceneA=cs1.smk (to exactly match the file name), rather than CutSceneA=CS1.SMK.
The SourceDir= should also list the location where the files are located (likely the current directory)

Fixed since .769

No need for that anymore. GDX will look for cutscenes in subfolders and since 0.769 it's not case sensitive. The only thing you need now is what described in the op post.

Sup!

The wav files are playing correctly through VLC, but ingame the audio doesn't seem to work, tried pretty much anything at this point even a clean installation, anyone else got this issue?

Cutscene audio is not supported yet.

M210 explicitly says that the cutscene sounds doesn't work at the moment, neither in the .avi ones I suppose. You can save space taking only the .smk+.wav instead of the .avi in the same folder.

Oh. Right. I'm an idiot then. Sorry about that.

I did what's in the OP but I still don't see any cutscenes, only the logo movies but those worked even before extracting.

I also did whats in the OP and it worked for me (except the sound which was already noted to be a known issue).

Did you copy the "movie" folder out of the "CD drive" and into the folder you have bloodGDX installed?

Yes, that's what I wrote. I tried it by copying the videos along with the movie folder to the game folder, then when that did not work I just tried putting the videos directly into the game folder. That also didn't work so I tried editing Blood.ini so that it would link directly to the movie files, that also did not work. Something is fucked up here.

Okay, figured it out: I recently moved my Blood install to another directory but BloodGDX still used the old one (damn you, AppData!) and of course no movie files were there. I'm an idiot.

There's little Ouwb Unofficial Patch by Sharp299, not sure if it adds new selection menu properly on Steam version but it does good job of unpacking everything just fine, since Steam version is basically re-release of GOG one.
