Gerald Marenghi (January 24, 1920 - February 29, 2016) known as Jerry Maren, was an American actor and was the only confirmed surviving dwarf Munchkin of the classic 1939 MGM film The Wizard of Oz.

Sadly wasn't a hoax.
On radio they said he passed away from a flu-like illness (possibly)
On April 15, 2016, Prince's private plane was forced to land in Illinois so he could seek medical treatment for flu-like symptoms. He performed in concert one day later.
On April 21, 2016, he died at the age of 57. He was found unresponsive at his home in Chanhassen.[
