3D Realms Purchased By Danish Investor

The only source is in Danish although it seems to be reliable being a major Danish television station.

Apogee Software, Ltd. purchased by Interceptor Entertainment investor 'Mike Nielsen', quoted as saying 3D Realms has been a historically significant company and hopes that it can become a brand known to a new generation of gamers.

I don't know if this is related to the lawsuit by Gearbox, but I this finally ends any possibility of 3D Realms ever making a comeback. I was hoping that eventually they would release some new games under their label. Now Apogee and ID are both basically non-existent.

So this is another way of letting us know they went bankrupt, totally expected..
I like that instead of using the word bankrupt they replaced it with the words Interceptor Entertainment.
If Interceptor bought this company, they most likely sold it for lint...

Can't wait to play remakes of the classic games where Fresch will most likely be cartoonified and placed as the final boss or as the main character in the games...

Maybe they bought them out in revenge so they could fire Miller and Broussard for wasting their time making them think they had permission to develop a new Duke game.

I wonder if George or Scott will remain involved at all with the new subsidiary Apogee.

So this now means that Interceptor own Duke 3D, the movie rights to Duke Nukem and, if they exist, any other Duke games that 3DR was working on that Gearbox were not given in the settlement. Interesting...

Also, according to Apogee they aren't owned by Interceptor, only 3DR is.

Interesting. Looking forward to the reveal of the masterplan.

Now wouldn't it be a hoot, if after a suitable period of time, GBX snarfed up Interceptor?

Away from the forums for one day...

This whole 3DR/Interceptor/GBX missmash just keeps getting weirder by the day.

R.I.P. 3DR. We all know that it will be bumbled even more now in the hands of Interceptor.
