We're focused on iOS right now but an Android release is definitely something we've been looking into. Especially since I only have Android devices! Gonna force Fred to do it!

Oh heck yes. This is great to see. I don't have an iPhone though. I sure hope an Android version will follow.

(Waiting for Mr. Deviance to post about how Interceptor will still find some way to make this fail completely)

This bullshit. Why does iOS get all the cool games?

My friend and me were drunk a couple years back and we just broke out singing this.

I don't really like the cover because it doesn't reflect what Duke looked like in the game. Just look at the loading screen and the 'I'm Back' cutscene. Otherwise... where is Duke Nukem 1

Blame the original game creators. Old games weren't exactly consistent in the art department. :D

From Frederik Schreiber on the interceptor's forum:

"We want to put all the love each title deserves into the games, and not just do a 2-pack game.
Why we did Duke 2 first?

Duke 2 is clearly the superior game, and tbh. Duke 1 hasnt aged well - But we will release it as its own seperate App in the near future as well :woot:"

Oh and the artwork is awesome. It's my new phone wallpaper. :D

Aha thanks, I don't go to those forums.

I like Duke Nukem 1 more than number 2 though :X

I can't be the only one who liked Duke 1 more than duke 2.
If duke 2 had a decent view distance so I could see the enemies and traps a few meters ahead before being f***ed up all the time... I would have finished it like I did with the first one.

I can't say I think Duke 1 is better than 2. Its a classic but by no means superior in any way except for nostalgia value.

Back in the day when games were episodic. lol

Not exactly the type of game that would be all that hard to rebuild. Also you can find sprite sheets available. I'll be honest though, I'd prefer someone made an HD port of it. Would be really cool. As long as its tastefully done and doesn't look like Manhattan Project.

As of 2005, Allen H. Blum may have it on an Amiga disk in his closet. That said, DN2 is a DOS sidescroller so it may very well be in assembly and/or employ lots of low-level DOS functionality.

I have mixed feelings about this. Mainly because iOS is a casual games platform. It's difficult to have any difficult, hardcore games on it given the control interface.

Duke 2 is a HARD game IMO, and if it comes to touchscreen something better damn well be done to make it easier, at least as an option.
I know... I'm a pussy...

I hate to be a douche, but... Color me unenthused.

Really. Updates to the original game? Something resembling effort? Alien Breed style, ya know? Ah, well...

But you guys got excited for a straight Duke 3d port. Yeah, can't take a lot of your words for it.

The DN3D port not a strait port also its going to have better net code.... so we can take all the good stuff from it and put it in Eduke32.

Yeah plus there's a different between a port to different OSs and a port to an entirely different platform with radically different imput controls.

I doubt the net code will be "better", maybe slightly more stable, but it only needs to be sufficient to run the original levels and vanilla maps. Definitely not enough to be able to run large mods/TCs without going out of sync. Just in case you were implying that it should be added to eduke32.

Edit: Just saw the trailer: "Two hundred and fifty-six eye popping colours!" Radical! Posted Image

Ah so the DN3D iOS port wasn't a straight port? Because I thought this thread was about the release of DN2 on iOS. Wait, eDuke is legally on iOS now?!?!

Now that's how the DNF cover should've looked like.
