And now I'm done with RoE & The Lost Mission. I had played RoE only once before this. It's maybe even a tad better than the main game because it felt more like a compact experience whileas Doom 3 started to get repetitive. Took me only 3 hours on Veteran but that's a pretty normal length for a mission pack.

The Lost Mission campaign was a bit disappointing. Too much recycled stuff and it was about half the length of RoE. But I liked the fact that they included two hell maps instead of the usual one.

What I liked about RoE was stuff like the addition of Helltime. In my copy (in the original with sikkmod) I modified the controls so right click toggles the grabber sort of like toggling between weapons & plasmids in Bioshock. So I had Q to toggle the artifact and right click to toggle the grabber.

Yeah Helltime is very useful. The grabber, however, is terrible. Doom 3 is too confined for it.

In all honesty I mostly used the grabber against those new imp style demons (forgot their names) so I would mostly quick switch to it for them grab their projectile, throw it back and quick switch back to regular weapons. I also used it again smaller enemies like spiders & lost souls. Not sure if that's in the standard game or a part of the sikkmod though. I would agree though that many areas are so confined that it can be somewhat difficult to use as sometimes you have to wait until they get in your line of sight. On the other hand I actually ended up using it more than I used the telekinesis plasmid in Bioshock to be honest.

By the way I thought helltime was most fun in the area right outside the final boss when you enable it and pummel all the sub bosses moving faster than they can.
