What if the test drive was in an outdated model of the same car and you had to drive around with a live hyena in the back? That would be more fitting I think to describe this demo for some here.

Ok now you're being ridiculous and totally unrealistic. I still want you to show me where a demo wasn't an accurate representation of the released game.

Answer it...don't sidestep.

It's not even a real question, you're just grasping at anything to defend your weak ass "demo is not a good representation" song and dance. I already tore apart your previous car frame analogy. I thought that would be painful enough for you. You've been dodging my request all night.

Show me a demo that wasn't an accurate representation of the released game.

Just because I can't find one offhand(I don't play many demos) doesn't mean there isn't one or that this demo is a fair representation of the final product.

Now ANSWER my bloody question.....please.

I think I'd keep the outdated model with the hyena because those are freaky cool animals.

Now you're just being silly.

You know what I meant. If you just want to deride my comments and joke around don't bother replying anymore.

If you ask serious questions I'll give you serious answers.

But to humor you, here's an attempt at a serious answer to your ridiculous analogy:
After riding around in a broken down rusted hunk of junk with a hyena biting the back of my head, I'd run as far away from that dealer as possible.

I was...if you tested out a car but the dealer you went to let you test drive a lemon that was rusted out and had smells coming from the back would you think all models of that car were bad or the same way?

The second question is slightly different as I worded the first one a bit wrong.

So is this what you're going to do all night? If you have the time to keep coming up with crazy analogies surely you have time to find a terrible demo for a great game.

Actually the first analogy was a bit off in it's wording...this is the last one I swear.

It's also not crazy...would a bad experience in one car turn you off all cars of the same make/model because of a bad experience as described above?

OK, I'll take a stab at it. I'm driving this thing down the street, the dealer is telling me it's one hell of a ride and gets all the ladies. Based on the weird smell I wouldn't argue with him. My guess is it's a 2 week dead hooker stuffed in the trunk. One of the wheels falls off and the engine catches fire but he assures me that's all part of the experience and the real deal is far better. Well I'm not sticking around to find out because he just left a real bad taste (and smell) in my mouth from that gnarly experience.

So you wouldn't ever consider buying the same brand of car from another dealer based on the experience of said model of car at said first dealer?

You lost me, man. We're so far off from what's relevant to the DNF demo it's like we're in a whole other galaxy now. You're basically saying "So you wouldn't ever consider buying the game if it was developed by another company?" Yes I would consider it.

I meant that if the demo was bad but the game good would you still not consider learning more by watching gameplay vids of the full game/etc, and possibly changing your stance, just because the demo was bad?

How about the first Timescape demo? That was completely different from the final outcome.

If the game is good I'll buy it. Traditionally bad demo = bad game.

Was Timescape the kinda crappy adventure game? I vaguely remember it being crap, especially when compared to the Titanic game that came out several years earlier.

And if the game is good will you also bake me some cookies? I like cookies, and it would go good by way of apology. :(

Sorry, did I say Timscape or Timeshift? It's Timeshift, anyway. It was an FPS where you could fast forward, freeze, or rewind time. The original demo turned out to be completely different from what the game ended up being. Granted, it has a new demo now, but then so may DNF.

I actually enjoyed your far out questions. It reminded me of those drunk talk games when you ask crazy shit like "would you rather have sex with Oprah or a tranny?" then throw in the wildcard "and one of them has AIDS."

I wonder if this demo will be the next/new lameduke?
