You know the game wasn't almost finished. I calculated that since GBX got involved there has been about 2500 - 3000 manmonths of additional effort before the game shipped.
2:58 The nine of them joined GBX and about 60-70 our people helped them.
So we've:
- approx 80ppl manpower
- and let's say it's 2700 manmonths
2700/80=
33.75months
So here is the thing he is either lying or he miscalculated.
If the game wasn't close to release why those ppl worked from homes without any payment? It's usually not something you do when there is in team of 80ppl with 30+ months of work ahead of you.

He looks to clean in the newer model like he's wearing designer clothes, not as badass imo.

I feel the opposite way, I think the rejuvenated Duke is better. He just looks better to me (can't bring it to reason, sorry).
Clearly GBX have decided to make him look younger to appeal to newer fans and as they want DNF to be the start of a range of Duke games. Making him old for DNF doesn't make sense when you just bought an IP.
It probably made sense for 3D realms (I miss that name!), as they where planning Duke begins and all that.
I personally think Duke begins was scrapped as it was shite btw, I haven't seen anything in it worth playing.

1) That guy speaking is fucking annoying as hell. He sounds like a small child seeking attention or something. He is annoying and unfunny. I know annoying and funny, but this guy ain't that.
2) I'm all around "meh" about the game so far.

official trailer at PAX and have it go viral by now? Hence why we haven't seen the trailer yet. They thought
it would have leaked by now.

Are you talking about the 8bit dos version of the game? Things look alot clearer now, as before you could hardly tell what his clothes really looked like with any detail before the HRP. I wonder if they'll use some kind of progressive dirt and damage being added to him and his clothes as he goes. That would add alot of realisim to the game.
@Gurty: Nice job man, we finally have gotten a good taste for whats to come!
"Look at the size of that motherfucker!" After hearing that I wonder, whats everyones take on the ratings now?

The graphics are not that great, like I said in the first place but they do seem better than I originally thought, but not by much.
What did change for me though, was the mood that it gave me.
Now I can finally say for the first time, that I've been able to focus on the game more than on other shit and the higher res video + the ability to hear the sounds for the first time, made the experience much better.
I guess the hype and the crowd's reaction also had a form of boost for me this time so I am really looking forward to this game a bit more than I did.
I've also noticed a few things that I don't absolutely love about the game.
1.The animations when you turn on taps on those sinks. Now, I am not one to be picky for such a thing because, I could be very happy even without seeing his hands but for interactivity like the one we saw in 2001, the arms need better animations imo.
2. The game is mega scripted in lots of areas. To kill that boss, you just have to shoot then press a button highlighted on the screen, while the npc is glowing.
Why do such levels of dumbing need to be added? Other game companies don't implement such glowing and they still sell their games to everybody.
I don't think people actually need to have both the button highlighted on the screen and the npc glowing... But then again, the guy that was playing the game, killed himself shooting rockets at objects that were 1 meter in front of him
As for Randy Pitchford. I am making huge efforts to swallow his seemingly fake excitement, and I just lie to myself that he is actually truly excited and not just faking it, even though his stories sound identical word for word in all of his interviews.
I was all around meh about this game, but after 1 month since pax, I've lost lots of hype for this game and now suddenly, the game seemed better to me than I actually expected it to be.
I still want to see that damn trailer though...
