And Kristian Joensen? What's his background then?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

He has collected ALOT of info from both the past, and curent projects... He goes much into detail with these things, so he's ver knowledgeable...

In the Gamez forums (backyard interactive game project in my sig) we "hired" him because he knew many important things about game development that we didn't think of, nor knew how to do... (licenses marketing and stuff)

I expect the article to contain lot's of his thoughts about DNF's development... (and of course some official quotes to back him up)

As Charlie said here . Don't get your hopes up. And, as most of you already know.. unless you hear something from GeorgeB, officially. Don't believe anything, anyone else says. :)

By the way Yatta, great website, and forums... Fancy seeing you in the DNF community. I remember way back in the day, when we met as the D3 community was just starting (Alpha Leak days).. Anywho, keep up the good work B)

Hehe, it's great to see you here man! Yes, we had some good times with Doom 3. I had always been a fan of 3D Realms and Duke, though. BTW, Thanks for registering here. :)

Great site Yatta and crew!

Here's my best guesstimate on what's up with DNF:

E3 2006 Duke Nukem Forever is revealed.

Fall/Holiday season 2006: Duke Nukem Forever is released.

I'm thinking they're concentrating on finishing up some of the levels and
going full tilt on the multiplayer right about now.

They have a pretty solid crew behind them from the looks of things. :)

Shouldn't be *that* much longer of a wait. As I've said, the above is just
my best guess on where things are but I'd venture to say they're very far
along.

You realize that they would say they didn't have any idea about when they were going to release media even if they did.

Didn't George state once, that they won't show DNF on another E3? I think I've read that a long time ago....

Here is a more recent thread where George was asked about this.

Avatar_58, I don't think they will ever throw a bone to the community like this. When they will release something, it WILL mean something big. About the topic, I think there's strong possibility of DNF being released in 2006 (late, very late) but it's just a guess. In that matter, everything can happen and I mean EVERYTHING.

If anything, this is what could happen on 01/29/2006, it would be 3D Realms releasing the shareware version of Duke Nukem Forever, it will coincide with the 10 year release of Duke Nukem 3D shareware. I received the offical word that there will be a shareware release of DNF so what better time to release it than on that particular date.

It will sure give us and everyone who waited so long a taste of what will be instored for us come full retail release, which will probably happen as close as this spring.

That would be a good idea. However, it does feel like it's too soon for a shareware release, unless they're going to release it as a big surprise to the Internet.

A DNF shareware release? Hm, I just can't imagine that.

You shouldn't expect this...
I don't believe 3DR are going to release a shareware version of thier game, without revealing screenshots/videos first...

I don't reckon any comapny that has released a demo, before any actual info was released first...

But I hope they'll bring demo to us before actual release. I mean, I'm tired of all those demos coming (long) after release of the full game (Doom3, Half-Life2, Stalker won't even have any sort of demo [except multi]). And yes, I think that the first thing DNF-related that will hit the net will be video... or at least h!-res screenshot.

But imagine the shock if they release a demo out of nowhere.
It'd be unprecedented.
Not a bad idea actually...
No info, no screenshot and no movie...Just KABOOM! DEMO! WTF! :)

Well, they'd be the first ones to do something like this. Hmm. Actually we can suspect everything. I doubt there'll be only small note: "DNF is done" on the main site, no. This must be something what we haven't seen before... or maybe not? Who knows...

Well, after 2 years of waiting (and I started pretty late with it) I would take *anything* DNF related...whatever it might be.
It´s 2006@the 3dr hq and nothing happened, not another "same procedure as every year" please :)

Some of my fanart is DNF related... Doesn't that keep you satisfied..? :) B)
But seriously, i'd take about anything too... Mostly some new info (no spoilers of course)

Hmm... info is not enough as we get some from (long) time to time (not to mention info about Pipebombs B)). I think I'll all be in one. When 3DR will show something cool, it won't be just throwing a bone but a start of DNF advertising or something. BTW: Micki! nice fanarts, well, I'm also drawing a lot but still nothing DN related (except very old and outdated concepts from 1996-1997, hehe). Right now I'm working on a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. related art, but as soon as I'm done with it, I'll do something about DNF, so I won't let you be the only one DNF fanartist B). Watch your back B).

Hi, and welcome to our boards..! :)
I hope you enjoy your stay, and make sure to visit regulary, since you never know if anything new DNF related stuff will show up... B)

Anyways, Nihilanth@
It's nice to know you can draw too... (i feel kinda lonely by being one of the few active fanartists around) I do ALOT of other drawings too though... Everything from potraits (i even did two of Joe) to Cartoony comics and Manga... About everything drawable...

I could post some new thread sometime, when i get my new DCP-115 (scanner/printer/copier) plugged in... Then i can show some (or maybe all) of my wacky drawings...
One of my personal favorites, is a cartoon with some bunny, who has EXTREMELY problems with his manner... Although, it's in Danish, i can easily translate it to English...

Well, it'd be very nice if you could show some more of your arts. I'll do the same as soon as it'll be possible from my side. Gotta keep community alive in that matter, hope new people will also make arts out there B). BTW: Check out your pm.

Raddy, what can I say other than welcome! I hope you'll stay here for a while... B)

Maybe he's busy, or it might show up sooner than expected... :)

I'm not hoping to learn many new things from this article (I could be wrong, anyway), but it'd be nice to read it, since there are no official articles anywhere. So I'm looking forward to it. ... Maybe we're not ready for it, yet? :)

Apparently George already said that a demo is coming out only after the game's released. He also said a couple years ago that he'll start opening up at least six months prior to the release, which he has only done in teeny bits. We're probably not going to see anything at least until fall.

Also, welcome aboard Raddy. Hopefully you'll post more often than even us moderators do.

Hmm, worthy to remember. Demo after release... bad. Six months from... what? By "opening up" you mean showing something game related or some kind of advertising campaign? Or maybe both... :)
