The wide open Egyptian areas give me sort of a Serious Sam vibe.

Wow, that was fast. I didn't expect the trailer to come until a few months later.

But it looks great!

Not surprising since most of them are heavily inspired by Serious Sam. My maps took more inspiration from Unreal 1 though (you can see snippets from them in the trailer).

Is there going to be gameplay to match or is it just aesthetic?

One word >> IM-FUCKING-PATIENCE !!!!!!

I am too enthusiastic to make an elaborate post but there's one thing I must say >> IF that weapon I saw being wielded by Geoffrey is a weapon specific to him then I am already VERY happy after what I said in my old detailed feedback ^^

Also It was nice to see the Shrinker from DNF it's one of the weapons remade in DNF that I liked compared to, for instance, the Chaingun or Devastator >_>

Freakin' awesome. However, I was disappointed to see vanilla enemies in part of it. :(

They've always been part of it, since episode one :P

just did a quick search for news, I saw you posted this at Doomworld doomhunter64, thanks for sharing it at other places :( (I don't frequent many other places that I could post it without seeming like self-advertisement)

I posted it on Facepunch as well, and at least one person was excited to see that it's still in development so that's something :(
I would post it on the ZDoom forums as well but my account got locked there due to some hackers screwing with the site some time ago.

As for Reddit and 4chan, I wouldn't really know what subreddit would be a good choice for Retro FPS modding news, and in both cases the trailer would probably get buried pretty quickly.

Yeah I already posted in the /doomvr/ topic for the news, not sure if It'll get noticed but at least it's out there.

Agree.
The aliens could have upgraded their fashion and armor by now.

Looks fantastic! Very impressive scale, that room at 1:48 looks absolutely massive. :(

I'm sure you could post development updates for the mod in the Retro FPS Megathread on Facepunch.

Bloodshot, Batandy and Combine Kegan regularly post updates for their mods there, and people definitely don't mind. After all, they're showing off cool stuff they've made.

James has put a lot of time into coding in various cool gameplay mechanics, so for sure the gameplay aspect is not lost on us.

The levels do look good though Posted Image

I meant specifically the Sam-style open areas. I was just wondering if there would be a little dash of Sam's style of play, or if it's just to look cool.

I'm fine with either, I was just curious.

We're not trying to do a gameplay recreation with the SS-inspired areas. The weapon-enemy balance simply doesn't translate. That doesn't mean there can't be a lot of enemies though.

I believe the only character whose gameplay would translate is Zaxtor since he has only one weapon which requires reloading but it's true that the weapon accuracy system and most enemies don't fit >_>

HOWEVER if somebody wants to have some Serious Sam vibe in AMC I would advise loading the Invasion maps in the usermap menu. Some of them work quite well especially since we have refilling stations here and there

Just asking, can I use my old 2.0.1's eduke32.cfg on the 3.0(if the EP3's version number is 3.0)? I would hate to replay whole EP1 levels again... :(

I plan to play EP2 levels when EP3 released, since they would revived updates too.

Looks cool but the Anubis Zombies look really big. Actually even the cobra and that other enemy at 42s do but it's more obvious with Anubis.

You can do yes, but EP1 has received polishing and tweaking so if you play it again, it should be more enjoyable :P

The Anubis is quite thin so having him be smaller would make him annoying to fight - it's fine in-game though.

Sounds like very interesting, if these EP1 levels got updates too then maybe I would considering replay them again...
