Samsung monitor touch buttons gone crazy  "yes, samsung monitor touch buttons gone crazy"

All of a sudden the screen settings menu showed up on my screen and then went away and now the red power light flashes and no button works at all. I´m afraid I won´t be able to turn it on again once i turn the pc off, so i want to ask for help.

My screen is a SyncMaster P2350, 6 years old. It works like a charm but all of a sudden i get this.

These are no actual buttons, it´s a sort of touchpad in lower right corner of the monitor´s frame. none of them work at all.

Any help will be appreciated. Googling about it prompts me to smartphone problems which are unrelated.

I don't know shit about your monitor.
Don't turn it off unless you have something to replace it with.

Well apparently after the energy saver turned it off and it went back on when i moved the mouse the problem seems to be fixed. As long as it doesnt happen again!

if it happens again most searches i've done indicate the IP board;PWI2304SL(A), LAVENDER2

if you have your energy saver turned off

press menu button and follow :--

setup&Reset>Off timer on/off.

set to off

A fixya thing had 1 person with the problem, apparently the panel became disconnected inside the monitor.

If it ever does crapout, could take it apart and do some investigating.

i've also read that it can be insanely sensitive to minor power surges or fluctuations in power flow. - i'm assuming that the monitor hasn't been moved recently or plugged into a new outlet/surge protector, or Gambini would have already checked if that was the problem

a portion of the non-user problems that are similar to Gambini's are with the capacitors on that board

the sun ejected a major plasma explosion, and we are in the middle of a solar discharge that is sure to screw with electronics

Also Samsung is the worst for cheaping out on capacitors, if a screen goes look at the caps for bubble tops.

The only thing barely related to electronics is my son´s netbook charger. It creates interference in the image of my screen when is connected. But I will just cross my fingers and expect it not to happen again.

Try wiping your cum off the touch panel.

I took your name off the mass email list but I also added it to another far worse list that also happens to have the word mass in it. Better luck next time.

So this shit is happening again and googling about it prompts me to this thread lol...

no one else had this problem it seems. It maybe something cyclic which happens every 22 months?

I just hope it stops doing it just as it did back then...

This is why I hate capacitive buttons. They always cheap out on that shit unless you dump like 3 grand on a CIA SmarTV™. Give me fucking microswitches any day of the week.

If it worked for this long and randomly started doing it again, it's probably your power-grid. The board is sensitive to fluctuations and the power company is cheaping you on how many legs or waves they're sending down their lines.
