By all accounts, Shadow Warrior should have been a better game than Duke 3D... but it wasn't. It has higher res art, it's using arguably much better written code, it was developed for a year after Duke, it had much more advanced effects, et cetera. Maybe it's flaw is just how hard it tried to be Duke 3D, combined with the subject matter not being as interesting or as coherent... who knows.

Thats true, well at least Blood is better then Duke 3D.

I think it might also have had to do with the marketing as well, I never herd of Shadow Warrior or saw it in shops till I got the internet. :)

When I was a kid I saw it at Best Buy all the time. I thought it was awesome, but couldn't get it at the time.

Yeah Shadow Warrior definately had a lot of potential, but for some reason I didn't quite like gameplay. Although I'm 14 now and I didn't really get back into Duke until just about two years ago. I think I'll try to find my Shadow Warrior disc.

I got it, I had to use the JFShadowWarrior to get it to work. Anybody know of a better port, on the first level the screen is grayed out where it's supposed to show the race car with the silver key. I can still beat it, but it's annoying.

This is really funny, just TWO days ago I got this game! I use both SWP and jfSW. The main thing i'm exited about is the turret building, I can't wait!

Anyway thanks!!!! It works great. Shadow Warrior was defiantely Duke's equal, maybe sometime in the future they could make a crossover game. So does this work with YANG, I think that multiplay thing is only for a LAN connection? I'll test it out. Thanks again!

Edit:

From what I can see YANG works with this, but I guess I'm not that likely to see Shadow Warrior people on am I?

Right now I feel like I want the whole Duke community to come to my house and play a super-LAN game. Not alot of people play it on YANG, but I have seen some people on meltdown.

Yeah, anyway I tried out the HRP and now the music won't load. I tried removing the HRP and that didn't work, the Enable Music is still checked.

Why does everyone care for the HRP for SW? The game is awesome with just voxels!

I don't care for it that much I was just testing it out. It's not that big of a difference. But anyway anyone know a fix for my problem?

I think the ports do have some sound issues, the last time I checked, Lo Wang's voice sounded a bit scratchy.

On another matter, I think I read on the wikipedia article that SW has a rudimentary voxel enemy mode. Is this correct? If so how do I use it? even if it's buggy I'm still curious about what it would look like.

Hey yea, I read that too, and thats why I got the game. It says you have to hit F5 but that doesn`t do anything. I think they messed it up with changing the îtems instead of the enemies, you can do that.

Funny, as soon as I played TTA2 I wondered where I could find the first one, I kept thinking it was Duke Nukem considering that there are not alot of maps for SW.

Oh my, I looked all over Google, All over the net but I can't seem to find Jonah's MAP FAQ for Shadow Warrior. I used to have it but now I can't even find Jonah's website. Any help?

Sorry for OT, but I've gotten stuck in "50 Shells in Hell 1"... Where do I go after killing the serpent? I've pushed the button to open up the door that leads to where you started, but then?

go down the other path at the start the dark canyon, the exit is behind you when you start, you need 2 buttons to open it up

Finished it now. Awesome map, one of the very best I've played for SW (including the official levels).

I found a quick-to-fix bug on TTA1, there is a gatedoor that is decoration but it can be passed leading into a hallway of nothing, it's not blocked.

you can fix it if you want, there is just no place that really stores/kept updated SW maps

SWBUILD is great, not to hard to learn

Is it? I was using JFSW build, it is very hard for me, damn I hope that mabye TX or someone would make an Eshadow32, it sounds messed up but it would be quite awesome!

JFSW Build = SWBUILD for Windows/Linux/etc. Try using ProAsm's improved version of JFSW Build (and by extension, SWBUILD), SwpBuild.

You have no idea what you're talking about. (Specifically, the pointlessness and difficulty.)

If you are referring to EDuke32, the game excutable, SW does not use CON files. SWP is the most advanced port of SW. IceColdDuke was going to give EDuke32-like features to SW (and SWP) such as Polymer, OGG Vorbis, and Lua scripting, but he got stuck.

If you are referring to Mapster32, TX had added full or near-full support to SW's tagging system to Mapster32. Theoretically you should be able to build anything, but IIRC you can't see it in action like the room over room.

Does the second episode have MIDI music? I've been playing Shadow Warrior and unless I play with the CD in I can't hear any music for the second episode.
