RedneckGDX

Hi! I released my port of Redneck Rampage.
At this time RR Rides Again not support, but I will add it later.
It's also written on Java with Libgdx, but Libgdx v1.9.8. I will update my other ports to this version too in future.

So, you can try it here

I still hate the fact you code in Java, and I will never install the java runtime on my computers, but congrats on the release.

Here's a set of skyboxes I've made for RedneckGDX (only first game so far)

Since you are back, does that mean PolymerNG is back too?

Why 48 hours?
As I promised I will release it, but I don't know how long I will be busy

Releasing a GPL program without the source code available immediately upon request violates the license. Right now you're technically in violation, but the open source community prefers to give projects a chance to voluntarily achieve compliance.

It doesn't take long to put your code up on a github repository :/. I've done it plenty of times for my releases.

Yes I'm doing some new things and I'll show some new stuff soon, however this thread isn't the place to talk about my stuff.

No, I already have it on gitlab, but I'm lazy to add GPL patterns to each file

How many times do I need to fight the same battle? Ice will not follow our instructions and that makes the existence of his forks unacceptable.

I don't want to derail m210's thread(were still waiting on the github link). However since I'm starting from scratch, I'll follow all your coding standards and instructions. If you'd like to send me over a list of specifics that can I follow, so I don't have to redue work, that would be much appreciated .

I can't kill chickens with the crowbar or pistol. I got lucky once with the shotgun but that doesn't seem to work often. Dynamite worked fine.

You've used up all your chances. I have no reason to believe that this time would be any different. Leave us in peace.

You need to release the code with or without the GPL headers on top of the source files.

I think there is need to rename BloodGDX forum to BuildGDX or something like that, and make a subforums for Blood, Redneck and other GDX ports

What was it you were thinking of working on? What are your goals? There is a big difference between working with us within the confines of our methodology and forking and doing your own thing; one is amenable to our own goals and the other isn't.

After sinking a few hours into this I have to say that this is a very solid first release. The game runs smooth (I only noticed a slight stutter when the music is changing tracks) and a lot of the features we had to wait for in BloodGDX (widescreen support, CD audio, smooth mouse controls, fps limiter etc.) are already here. It's a lot better than running the game on DOSBox, that's for sure, high resolutions make the game look nice and sharp and the added FoV with widescreen helps navigating the game's huge ass maps a lot.

I noticed a few problems: there are visual bugs (textures can flicker), some enemies can act up (I noticed that the mosquitoes and the "S&M chicks" don't do damage sometimes) and some sprites seem to clip through the environment but it's been such a long time since I played the original game that I dunno which bugs are original and which are caused by RedneckGDX.

Mechanically the game is still dodgy of course but at least now that we have a port improving that aspect is actually possible.

Seems pretty good so far!

The main page mentions support for RR66. How do I play that in this port?

You need to make different folder with RR66 (with Redcneck.grp, game.con, new Art-files (should have tilesxxx.art name), anm files, etc)
