Your favourite Grabbag remix?

There are so many covers of Grabbag out there that I'm just curious what everyone's favourites are.

Somewhy my pick is HyperDuck SoundWorks' and Stemage's remix found on the NUKEM remix album, I think it's just freakin' fantastic and a very original cover overall:

I love the epic intro and how the raw, "traditional" metal cover gets mixed with a version of the tune that is closer to the original MIDI sound.

I'm a huge thrash metal fan... so my pick would be Megadeth's cover.

I never knew Stemage was involved in a Grabbag cover. I have to give that one a go!

Yeah, it's a lesser known cover because the album itself is pretty hard to find nowadays. It was released as part of a music bundle on gamemusicbundle.com but they ran into some legal issues so it was removed. The cover is still available though on BandCamp with a "name your price" tag added to it so you can download it even for free if you want.

As for Stemage's involvement this is what he says about the song on his discography page: "Cover of Grabbag from Duke Nukem 3D - I played drums and a guitar solo".

I have to say my favorite is the cover from Mark Knight.

The way it speeds up at 0:26 and 1:21 always got me pumped when I played Total Meltdown way back then.

I like that one a lot. The Megadeth one has always been a classic.

A few other choice options:

https://www.youtube....h?v=jW5h1xhp_M8 - Duke Nukem 3D Theme Cover - Santiago Chamorro
I love the power of the main melody in this one, and although normally I hate the use of game-sound samples in the remixes as they get in the way of the music itself they really work well here.

Another really awesome. Again, love the way the main melody just kicks some ass.

https://youtu.be/uu9vDTs0ciE - Legacy of Grabbag - Brandon "MusicallyInspired" Blume

Brandon Blume's epic Medley of all things Grabbag. Been a fan of it since the original version, and this remake just rocks. Take a bow, dude.

Truth be told though I've just come to really love Lee Jackson's original and David Arkenstone's 2001 orchestral composition. I wish that 2001 existed in a higher quality.

This one by James Grote (Gigadeth) featured in the 1998 E3 trailer:

It absolutely has the very best solo of them all!

I don't know what my favourite would be. I'm a fan of Vertexguy's Jam and a few of the ones posted here (some I hadn't heard before!). Also worth mentioning is "Duke Nukem Meets Metal". Some incredibly ability and technique expressed here:

Favorite version theme? That's quite a hard question..

I like the 98 DNF trailer version aswell as the PSX "live" version with the crowd effect and all. I also like the N64 version and Saturn version. I too like the Duke Nukem Zero Hour and Duke Nukem Manhattan Project versions. There are also some really good usermade covers of it.

I guess I don't really have an ultimate favorite because when I think about it, I can't really put any of these versions over other.

I think the official Duke Nukem Forever (2011) version may probably be my least favorite one.

Love all these, and the Bonch one has always been a fav of mine. Since it was posted on the 3DR board way back it's just generally one of the few that I put on an mp3 player or whatnot.

I've got a fondness for the Duke 64 version, but to my mind the 'definitive' rendition is probably vertexguy's first cover. It rocks, and I feel the HD version he did later on is too clean sounding if that makes sense.
