I loathe dubbing but it's funny to hear "Duke" speak in French (my native tongue). Doesn't really sound like Duke to me though, as I assiocate him to Jon Sth John.
This would have been cool back when I first discovered duke3D as a 8 years old kid who couldn't understand any spoken word of English, though.

Quote
the duke voices were horrendous on PSX and N64 versions, but the alien line might be usefull to me !
UPDATE: some alien lines are missing, like the one of the final episode 1 boss and those of the fat commander !
Jon St John or Daniel Berretta (french Arnold Schwartzeneger voice) are good to me to be associated to Duke Nukem, but Daniel Berretta is far better dubber than the dubber who did the french versions of TOTAL MELTDOWN and DUKE NUKEM 64 (don't even remember his name) , il avait autant de voix qu'un DOC GYNECO essoufflé après avoir courut le marathon !
Et puis si ça te rapelle les films d'action des années 80 et 90, tu ne sera pas dépaysé, c'est que j'ai réussit mon coup !

But one question. Can you rename the maps into the french names like
L'abime, Essoreuse, Zone Inondable, Panique au Dancing?

And in fact, maybe some of you are aware of it, or not, but i learned that there was TWO versions of the N64 game. I own the first one apparently, the one that is not dubbed and not translated, it's exactly the same as the NTSC version. I bought it back in 1997 if i'm correct. I still own it, box, manual, cartridge, perfect conditions.
The second version is, indeed, fully translated, voices and text. I wasn't aware about this at all. Anyone have informations about releases dates for both versions ? Is there any differences ingame or on the boxart beside that ? Which one is the hardest to find ? I guess it's the second version, 'cause many friends had the game just like me and they were not translated too, but i can't be sure, i'm speaking right from pre-00's experience with the game
Anyway, waow, that's one thing i would never have figured out. There really was not many games fully translated on N64, and Duke Nukem 64 was certainly not one that needed a translation
