It's actually ripped from the ROM using this tool.

Since we are on it, did you recorded from the emulator the ogg included in your site? It doesn't cycle at the end, which could be fixed by ripping it from the end of the game after the goal cutscene.

Cool! I might have a tweak at it and see if I can do some Yamaha XG-ification with my MU-90R and it's guitar amp emulation. Arguably, the true thing to do would be to SoundCanvas it.

Wait, this is possible? I could for example, extract the music from Army Men: Sarge's Heroes and it'll turn to MIDI?

EDIT: Never mind, I see you can only do supported games.. definitely needs to support more games then ;)

I can 'Sound Canvas' that if you like. I never knew that was in MIDI format. I remember making a MIDI Duke64 grabbag from scratch a few years back for fun. Wouldn't have down that if I knew this.

I'd recommend tinkering with the instrumentation and looping manually.

This is what the MIDI is like directly after extraction.

Well, it ain't great, but here's a zip with a few different takes in; http://www.mediafire...aeo8e038zi8luiq

Contains
SCC-1 (SoundCanvas) -- A little reverb added, nothing fancy. Also a modified version of the MIDI.
MU-90R - A heavily altered version, makes use of the XG SysEx language for some effects, couldn't quite get the distortion & feedback I wanted.
AdLib - Two versions, running in Duke3D.exe.

If MusicallyInspired wants to SoundCanvas it he can probably do a better job and I welcome him to try and outdo my modded one too. It ain't my style with the synth, I'm more used to working with synthpop, power ballads and some chiptunes.

Here; Attached File  G64_02.zip (2.65K)
Number of downloads: 177

It does of course assume you are using an XG Compatible synth, more specifically, an MU-90R.

So if duke 64 uses midi (granted for only 1 song) wouldn't that mean that there's a soundfont some where in the rom as well? (the instrument samples)
