I wonder if that's what 3DRealms' mentality was. Maybe the posts on their forum were just so funny to them that they delayed the game more and more and eventually they had to toss it because they wasted so much money so we ended with some shit. BTW, I agree that the entire situation is hilarious. People who believe it's real and whine for it to be released, the original pranksters who admit that it was a joke and they're not believed (!!!), even moderators who are in on the joke...

the thread here, the mod db page, the news releases at MSDN & Dukespana. the duke4 moderator, testers, & coders are all in on it.

it's to weed out all the fake duke3d fans and dnf hangers-on. get you all so mad you go away and never come back, then we can finally have some peace and quiet around here

did you not read the credits at the end of the video or listen to MetHy when he reported finding issues that would cause delay?

they're intentionally pissing off the greedy map grabbers that come in and download free levels that somebody has worked their ass off to make in their free time. All that hard work and can't even get back a comment or two about what the player thinks.

I'm inspired by Gambini's example. From this point onwards, I'm scrapping the 6 mostly-finished levels of the beach CBP 9, the Carribean inspired art and coded features, and the flyable hot air balloon, and we'll start working on a stealth based dungeon crawler where you can get enemies to become allies by giving them gold. It'll use polymer lights so it won't be out until Plagman optimises polymer. I'm sure it'll be out soon Posted Image

Guys, take your time with the mod if you have issues that need to be ironed out. It's better to wait more for a good product than to wait less for a mediocre one.
I really appreciate the effort that has been put into this and two thumbs up for all of the developers of this mod
