As in adding a sector that is completely null space to a sector that's already extended, with the null space being in both the lower and upper sectors. When I try to add one, it just automatically becomes red lined and trying to delete the sector seems to also wipe out the extension. I can vertex edit on the outer walls to sort of pull it in and then close it off but it always leaves a sliver attached that can't be removed.

How to add null space to an existing extended sector?

Plan ahead when using TROR. Unless things have changed I don't think that is possible.
By plan ahead, I mean get those white walls drawn before extending layers.

I was afraid of that. Too bad there isn't some kind of script to get around it.

If the sector you want to add is not connected to any other sectors, look up "sector punching" in the TROR wiki page.

notice the white building near the middle, you make a white sector nearby in a red sector that would be commonly seen from the building from the front, the closer the better increase the sectors height also so the upper half can be seen.
now once you have your top half, use LEFT SHIFT to select said white sector and move it beyond into the void behind said building then start shaping it
