I got to about to the part in the Wang Cave (real name of level escapes me as the last time I played was probably January)
I want to get back into this game, but I keep coming back to Wolfenstein when I feel the need to play an FPS on my PS4.
With the recent ability to remap any button to whatever you want on PS4, I may go back to Shadow Warrior and set it up so it plays exactly like Wolfenstein.

I thought there was way too much poorly designed down time in Wolfenstein. I understand people thought walking around the hideout was a nice change of pace, and that sneaking past blind enemies which can be one-hit killed engaging, but I thought it was tedious filler. Everything outside of the shooting (bland weapons and all) was absolutely dreadful. Not a single character surprised me once. Well, I guess Deathshead disappearing for the entire game was unexpected. :)

I essentially speedrun the game at this point. The fetch quest missions I can do pretty quickly without hassle and full levels get knocked down to just 10 minutes; there's a few specific levels I usually graviate towards if I don't want to replay the whole thing.
I understand there's a number of people that didn't like the bottle necking downtime, so here's hoping The Old Blood fixes that

Anywho, I'm going to get back on Shadow Warrior this week

Shadow Warrior is $10 in the latest humble bundle. Probably not a coincidence.

Holy crap, just gave the game another go. Either the enemies have way too much health or all the weapons are seriously underpowered. It's hard to feel like a badass when you can't do much damage.

I thought this too when I was playing through some time ago, I really had to play smart, and play to survive rather than just shooting and blowing things up. Fun game, but not as Wang Bang as I was used to. :D Either that or maybe I'm awful, which could be the case.

Harder = better. I've only started playing a little while ago and I'm having fun. I'm glad it's not just a game where all the enemies simply bow down to whatever you're holding in your hands. Course, that was before the patch. Did it really change so much? We'll see.

Did they rebalance things so much?

I remember that on the hardest difficulty the only useful moves were the ki-strike and the rocket launcher.

The original Shadow Warrior was harder without making the weapons feel like peashooters.

Oh thank god I already beat the damn game in Insane difficulty before the 1.5.0 patch...I really hate those stupid battles in the end of Chapter 16...

I hope they changed something on those tedious battles...

If you guys are referring to my posts, then I didn't mean to imply that they significantly re-balanced the game (or if they did I didn't notice it), just that after all this time it's a lot more obvious just how weak the weapons are. Can't remember what difficulty I'm playing, probably one of the higher ones, so hopefully it's not so bad on the easier difficulties, but then again, those would be too easy.

This. The enemies dealt you a lot of damage (but not too much so as to stop you from feeling like a badass), and in turn you had a set of powerful weapons with which to blast them away. The game feels very balanced once you really get into it, probably moreso than Duke 3D where your weapons are more powerful compared to the enemy damage, at least for the higher tier weapons.

I'm sure in Casual difficulty, the weapons are OK for me, but they're still low of power since no upgrades on them in my first run...Full upgrades weapons are so powerful to deal most of enemies, but not that fucking back-hitting only beasts...

Yeah, SW Classic is enough balanced, enemies can kill player so quickly but also player can kill enemies so fast with Lo Wang's powerful weapons...but I guess not everyone who play FPSes like DN3D/SW Classic's style... :\

DirectX compatibility/optimization and swordfights against Zilla in chapters 13 and 16 are great, but...

When can we expect brand new content (or at least the newcontent from the console version) ?

I thought the sword fights against Zilla was the new content from the console version?

No, actually in the console version there is a brand new chapter inside the story....

Compared to the version I played before release and the 64 bit version patch, the game runs like a dream now!

I feel shame because I'm not actually start to play the 1.5.0 yet, because the new renderer acting weird on my end...I hate blurry screen and don't want to change my desktop resolution when I play the game, will wait until FWH fixed those problems...even I already watched some of videos about the new 1.5.0 version footage. :D

EDIT : Read this thread on Steam community...looks like it's bad idea to play the Zilla fights in current version with hardest difficulty(insane) or heroic mode(insane + checkpoint save only)...

"Who wants some more wang" could also be just an advertisement for penis enlargement.

EDIT:
TBH: I hope they do it like the last time. Release the game (or DLC if it is that) quite close to the first announcements of it, like they initially did with Shadow Warrior.
