Any Players of Unreal Tournament 2004?  "[SM] Shadow Mavericks UT2004 Server"

Hello! I'm looking to see if there are any players of Unreal Tournament 2004 on Duke4.net... I've been wanting to get more players to regular my clan's server, since I'd hate to see an awesome game just die off.

Anyone is welcome in our server, except for people who behave like total asshats of course... Our server has the stock game, plus a bunch of new maps, and a few vote-able mods that you may enjoy, such as Ballistic Weapons. The server also shares text chat with our IRC Channel, and our TF2 Server... so you can communicate with, and meet new people who are outside of the game. Posted Image

The Server Info (IP, Content Pack Downloads) can be found here: http://steamcommunit...883430401617131
If that doesn't work, read this:

Spoiler

Don't have UT2004? Seriously, give it a try, it is an awesome game.
You can get it on:

PS: Could some kind soul be able to mirror the content packs for me? It would help save bandwidth on my end, plus the gamefront file isn't permanent...

Also, a side note for Duke Fans, I added a Hollywood Holocaust-based DM Map, made particularly for 16+ players.

The learning curve is way too high for those kind of games. I liked the single-player competition mode or whatever but I cannot get anything done on public servers. I can still beat my real-life friends 20-0 in deathmatch though.

Keeps the riff raff out. ;)

Shockrifle combos made that game even more imbalanced than FPS's that have a 'BFG'

They are surprisingly more difficult to pull off online. Plus, they still don't do as much damage as a Flak Shell to the face.

When fighting a shock-lord, I never saw anyone get close enough to deliver a flak shell to the face.

Lightning gun is the key here. Or block his shockballs with your own. ;)

Does this mean that Unreal Tournament 3 is dead? I have to admit I lost interest in it myself pretty quickly.

Yeah, UT3 is pretty much dead... But I do see some activity in the UT2004 scene still.

UT 2K4 was great, as was UT 99. I haven't played it in years but it was our MP staple for many years.

What are people playing MP nowadays with?

I still play the odd UT2004 bot match.

I remember the days when Wamplet and the guys from 3DR used to host UT2004 servers and we'd have a frag fest. It was awesome.

Well, if you guys want to gather together and play in our server, even if I'm not there, go right ahead. :3 The more people, the merrier.

I wonder if I can still find my original CD for that.

Aside from hardcore tourney play, I really enjoyed random death matching in that game. That it supported skin modding so well on both client and server side was a nice touch too.
