Hello!

The HRP SC-55 music (duke3d_music-sc55.zip) is encoded in rather low quality OGGs which can be a bit harsh on the ears when using quality headphones. Is this music available in lossless encoding (such as FLAC)?

I'm specifically interested in barmusic_voc.ogg, which is not available as a MIDI anywhere, and therefore cannot be easily recreated.

Thanks for your reply! I also found this page shortly after posting, but can't find the *_voc. files on there (https://sc55.duke4.n...e3d_flac_v4.zip does not contain barmusic_voc.ogg and others which were not MIDIs originally). Any other place I can look?


After some more digging around, I found that this track (barmusic_voc.ogg) comes from a commercial OST release and is composed by Lee Jackson himself. Ok, I figured it out with a bit of help from Brandon Blume.

That release above is not a follow-up game OST, it IS the PSX game disc. The original source of HRP's barmusic_voc.ogg can be ripped directly from the PSX game disc of Duke Nukem - Total Meltdown.

For those curious the original is contained in XA_2:Track 8, is 4:48 long and sampled at 37800Hz / 16bit.
