Animated avatars.

I can understand that you don't want some whole clip from a show of a guy chopping off heads in GIF form, but what about something simple? You know, like, for example, my current avatar, but the guy's blinking every now and then. Something like...

It's very simple, It doesn't draw attention to itself, and it's four frames long. That wouldn't be that much to put as an avatar, would it?

Go ahead. Say anything. I'm used to having my self-esteem lowered.

I don't think you read the whole thing. Just don't have some completely obnoxious animated piece of crap. That said, your little man-sketch blinking isn't annoying (to me) so you probably don't have to worry about being run over by a van.

That's exactly what I'm trying to say. Thanks, just trying to clear that up for everyone. (I wasn't gonna use that as my avatar anyway. )

Well, I usually use this; and will again when QuakeCon is finished, and I've never had any trouble, so I think that just a dude blinking will go without being penalised.

I don't think my old avatar would be tolerated as much, some may remember it, CardCaptor Sakura's transformation scene... Damn, that thing used to lag my browser, and I assume it did the same to everyone else.

In the end, we are all subject to the will of TX.

There are a couple of animated avatars and a few people with images in their sig. These things are allowed but if you abuse them, I suppose you will be dealt with. For example, if you have a seizure inducing avatar, you will probably be told to never use it again after it is disabled for you.

Wow High Treason I didn't even realize your that penguin's eyes were animated until now.

And to the topic poster: Yeah, don't worry about subtle animations.
